Eleven Gables: table setting

I am so happy it is Spring!!!
Can I get an Amen?
I mean it's not like our winter was brutal here in Oklahoma, but I don't like being cold and we have had our share of cold days... like today. It's cool and breezy. I might be curled up in a blanket writing this post now. :)

For my Easter table I really wanted to integrate my signature blue and white. As much as I love color, I adore using all white and green florals mixed with blue and white. It is just soothing and springy to me. So... without further ado... here is my spring table!

A vintage floral tablecloth in blue and white sets the tone for the table. Using different flowers in the same color gives interest, but provides uniformity to the table.

Velvet Strawberries from Hot Skwash nestled in a bowl of reindeer moss add the perfect touch of sophistication. The bowl can easily be placed to the side when dinner is served.

For our family, Easter is a special time of reconciliation. Christ reconciled us to God by sacrificing his life to save us. We believe, as Christians, that we are to reconcile ourselves to others and to Christ. You can read more about reconciliation HERE.

We love to gather around the table and share how God has changed our lives over the last year.

We break bread and thank Him for new mercies every day.

Spring is a wonderful time to witness the "new mercies" as leaves burst forth from bare branches and flowers push up through the earth.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.

His mercies never come to an end.

They are new every morning!

Kitchen Shops, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram are all wonderful places to be inspired.

One such Instagram account that has me swooning is LB Originals.

She helped me set this gorgeous table with one of her Pop-Up Tabletop Boxes from her etsy shop, Preppy Paper Girl.

Each Pop Up Tabletop box is Unique and Custom made by Laurie.

In my box were six plates, six salt cellars, 6 monogrammed napkins, and beautiful customized scripture cards.

The perfect start to my table, vintage and new, mix-and-match, all paired together. "Perfectly Paired. Decidedly Darling."

America celebrates Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November. It is a day set apart in order to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest. As a descendant of the Mayflower, Thanksgiving is truly a time for my family to reflect on the heritage that has been passed down for generations. Thanksgiving weekend is set aside for trimming the Christmas Tree, playing games, and watching football.

My friend, Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co, invited me to participate in her beautiful blog hop of Thanksgiving tables and traditions. This Thanksgiving, I wanted to incorporate things around my house on our table, aka shop my house. I am so excited to show you my tables! In my Blogger Stylin' Fall Home Tour, I showed you how I added touches of fall throughout my home. Today, I am showing you how I will set my Autumn Thanksgiving table.

If it is an Indian Summer, we will be eating outside. Who am I kidding? It will be cold and blustery, but the yard is so beautiful today, I just HAD to set up my table outside!!

The sprinkling of leaves is acting like a festive confetti of red, yellow, and orange. Such beauty in God's creation.

A simple centerpiece of gathered foliage in their stunning display!

Brown transferware, pewter, my grandmother's silver, and dishtowels used as napkins give the table a bit of English Countryside Charm.

It's all so romantic, but WHAT do you do when you want to set a pretty table without all the fuss? You can still attain a lovely table! Literally five minutes and I had a new table set for next to NOTHING. And the best part? It all goes in the trash with no dishes to wash!

Using some outdoor furniture or even a card table,

I took the scarf off my neck and transformed it into a tablecloth.

Grocery store flowers cut and plopped in a container, paper plates dug out of my "leftover" stash, plastic cups and utensils...

It isn't about the money spent on having the "right" accessories as seen on Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook. This table could be just as lovely with white paper napkins, plates, and utensils. Utilizing a scarf, piece of fabric remnant, or fruit adds color and texture to your table.
You can make anything lovely with a little lipstick.

One of our traditions we do as a family is write down things we are thankful for. We start the beginning of November and allow the children (and Mommy and Daddy) to add to it whenever they recognize something they are thankful for. On Thanksgiving Day, we reread our "thanks" and talk about the many ways God has worked in our family over the past year by looking at "thanks" from previous years.

To me, Thanksgiving isn't just about a beautiful tablescape, Thankgiving is about FAMILY.

This is our family on Thanksgiving Day last year. Our extended family was out of town, so we made the best of it! Turkey, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes..

The table was simple. The boys each made their own placemat with craft paper and markers while my husband and I finished up dinner preparations.

Here we used our china and crystal, but the meal wouldn't have been any less special with all paper goods! The focus is on being together and good conversation.
